The Spirit of Wisdom. Wisdom means right application of knowledge.Those who have this Spirit will always do exploits for God. This is the Spirit that gives anointing for power and service. Prophet Isaiah listed these seven fold spirits of God in Isaiah 11:2.” The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.” “ But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.” This situation occurred because of lack of the seven spirits of God. Jesus Christ had earlier on in the Gospel of Matt.23:27 described those in similar situation as “hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.” Externally they portray a resemblance of Christianity but internally are controlled and governed by the works of the flesh. The members were full of religion but empty of the Spirit. The Church at Sardis was characterized by complacency and reliance on past glory. The Church at Sardis was the fifth Church addressed by the Lord Jesus Christ in His letters to the seven Churches located in Asia, present day Turkey.
